About Us

The Children’s SPOT of Alaska is a one-of-a-kind pediatric therapy clinic that provides services uniquely tailored to meet the individual needs and interests of every child we work with. Our multi-disciplinary team is committed to providing personalized, intensive, and client-centered therapy services for children with various disabilities including developmental delays, autism, and sensory processing disorder. Our goals is for our clients to learn how to develop the appropriate skills to increase their independence and quality of life.

Our Team

Kelly Ott, OTD, OTR/L

Owner / Occupational Therapist

Kelly graduated from Creighton University in May 2016 with a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. She began her career working with adults in an acute hospital setting, later transitioning to an OT position with the Anchorage School District in 2018. She enjoys helping children to learn life skills to increase functional independence. Kelly continues to grow professionally through continuing education courses with a particular focus on pelvic floor rehabilitation and biofeedback. Above all, Kelly values the opportunity to collaborate with families raising a child with a disability, drawing from her personal experiences as a parent of a child with special needs to provide invaluable insight and support.

Originally from Vancouver, BC, Kelly immigrated to the United States after marrying her husband Glenn. She and her husband have three children. On weekends, she enjoys traveling, fishing, going to their cabin in Willow, and watching football.

Shannon Parker, OTD, OTR/L

Owner / Occupational Therapist

Shannon graduated from the University of Hawaii in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in education. After teaching for several years, she decided to go back to school to pursue a more direct-care focused career with the intent to continue to serve children. In 2016, she graduated from Creighton University with her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. Since then, she continues to grow as an OT by taking continuing education courses and becoming certified in therapeutic listening, hippotherapy, neuro-rehabilitation, and aquatic therapy. Shannon also has training to help with handwriting, feeding, sensory integration, executive functioning, and behavior interventions. She knows and uses American Sign Language and is working at becoming more proficient.

Shannon was born and raised in Anchorage. She and her husband have twin girls. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, fishing, hiking, and watching live sports with her family.
